Protective Stabilization - A Doral Approved Course

3 credit hours; $109 per dentist and $89 per auxiliary. Morning coffee
will be provided.
Course Description:
The goal of this course is to provide didactic and experiential training in the
selection and utilization of protective stabilization use in dental treatment.
Discussion will include: AAPD recommendations and rules of the Tennessee
Board of Dentistry. Indications,
contraindications, frequency and duration of use, monitoring, precautions,
documentation and infection control will be covered.
Parental consent as well as legal and ethical issues will also be
addressed.

Dr. Ann S. Smith is an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Oral Health at the University of
Tennessee College of Dentistry. She
is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the
American
Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry. Prior to
joining the faculty at UT she was in private practice. She
received her DDS from Baylor and completed her advanced education in Pediatric
Dentistry at UT.
